Could the severe period pain, mild cramping, jelly-like spotting, and brown discharge I am experiencing after starting Diane 35 and Pause MF be signs of endometriosis, even though my recent pelvic ultrasound for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) showed no cysts and I did not have spotting when I took Diane 35 in the past?
It is completely understandable to feel concerned when your body responds differently than before. The spotting, brown discharge, and mild cramping can be common, temporary side effects as your body adjusts to Diane 35 and Pause MF (tranexamic acid/mefenamic acid). While a normal ultrasound is reassuring, it cannot completely rule out endometriosis, as small endometrial implants often do not show up on routine scans. However, your symptoms are very likely related to your body adjusting to these medications. Please be reassured, but do follow up with your gynecologist so they can monitor your symptoms and ensure your comfort.
