About Duova Rotacapsules

Duova Rotacapsules is a respiratory medication primarily used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), like bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes) and emphysema (shortness of breath). It may also be used to treat asthma. COPD is a group of lung diseases that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs.

Duova Rotacapsules contains Formoterol (bronchodilator) and Tiotropium (anticholinergic). Duova Rotacapsules works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, thereby improving breathing and reducing symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath.

The common side effects of Duova Rotacapsules include headache, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, sore throat, and hoarseness. Most of these side effects of Duova Rotacapsules do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not use Duova Rotacapsules to treat sudden severe symptoms or as a rescue inhaler. Please check with your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other prescribed or non-prescribed medicines. Keep the doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any side effects/interactions.

Uses of Duova Rotacapsules

Duova Rotacapsules is used in the treatment of chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), including bronchitis and emphysema. The detailed uses of Duova Rotacapsules are as follows:

  • COPD treatment: Duova Rotacapsules is highly effective in managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a progressive lung condition. It helps alleviate symptoms such as breathlessness and wheezing, thereby ensuring better respiratory function.
  • Inflammation control: Duova Rotacapsules is effective in reducing swelling in the airways, which makes it easier for individuals with respiratory conditions to breathe.

Directions for Use

  • It is recommended to take Duova Rotacapsules twice a day or as advised by your doctor.
  • It is a capsule with powdered medication which is placed in a Rotahaler/Transhaler, a plastic inhalation device that releases the medication when you breathe. The capsule should be placed at the base of the rotahaler/transhaler, and completely twist the mouthpiece until you hear a click sound. Then, breathe in through the mouthpiece deeply and hold your breath for 10 seconds. Remove the device and breathe out normally.
  • Remove the inhaler and hold your breath for a few seconds, then breathe out slowly.
  • Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after using it to avoid fungal infections in the mouth and throat.
  • It is for inhalation only. Do not swallow the capsule.
