Avil Injection is an injectable medicine used to treat severe allergic reactions, skin allergies such as hives, and allergic reactions caused by medicines or insect bites. It belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines and works quickly to relieve allergy symptoms. It is usually given under medical supervision when prompt treatment is needed.
Avil Injection injection is usually used only for the short-term treatment of sudden or severe allergic reactions. Once your symptoms improve, your doctor will decide whether you need to switch to an oral antihistamine or receive any additional allergy treatment based on your condition.
Common side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth, and mild dizziness. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe sleepiness, rapid heartbeats, or difficulty passing urine.
Do not receive Avil Injection if you are allergic to pheniramine or any of its ingredients, have severe central nervous system (CNS) depression, or if the patient is a premature baby or newborn infant unless your doctor decides it is absolutely necessary. Tell your doctor before treatment if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, difficulty passing urine, asthma, emphysema, severe kidney or liver disease, or if you have taken MAO inhibitors within the past 14 days.
Avoid drinking alcohol or taking other sedatives with this medicine, as they can cause extreme sleepiness and slower breathing. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or an older adult, consult your doctor before receiving this medicine.
Avil Injection can pass into breast milk and may cause excessive sleepiness or irritability in a breastfed baby. Your doctor will decide whether the benefits of treatment outweigh any possible risks and may recommend close monitoring or an alternative medicine if needed.
