I have throat pain along with ear pain. What could be the cause?
Throat pain along with ear pain is commonly due to a throat infection, such as Pharyngitis or tonsillitis, where the nerves supplying the throat and ear are connected, so pain can travel to the ear even if the ear itself is normal. It may be caused by viral infections (most common), bacterial infection, allergies, or sometimes ear infections as well. You may also notice symptoms like fever, difficulty swallowing, cough, or a blocked ear. Most mild cases improve with rest, warm fluids, saltwater gargles, and simple pain relief, but if the pain is severe, lasts more than a few days, is associated with high fever, pus in the throat, or difficulty swallowing, it is important to see a doctor for proper evaluation and treatment.
