Apis mellifica is a well-known homoeopathic medicine prepared from the honeybee. It primarily acts on the cellular tissues, especially affecting the skin, mucous membranes, and serous membranes, causing edematous swelling, redness, and stinging pain - much like the reaction to a bee sting. Apis is widely used for conditions with sudden swelling, inflammation, and fluid accumulation, as well as for urinary, respiratory, and gynecological complaints.
