Problast Fem Capsule is used to prevent bone loss in peri and post-menopausal women.
Problast Fem Capsule contains Calcitriol, Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium, Soya Isoflavones and Vitamin K2-7. Calcitriol is a man-made form of Vitamin D3 and treats calcium deficiency. It raises the Vitamin D levels and thereby increases calcium levels in the blood. This helps in improving the absorption rate of calcium from the stomach. Calcium carbonate is a mineral that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation. Magnesium is a mineral that promotes the normal functioning of muscles. Soya isoflavones work strengthening bones in postmenopausal women. Vitamin K2 7 helps to maintain bone density.
You are not recommended to take Problast Fem Capsule if you have hypercalcemia (high levels of calcium in the blood) as it may worsen the condition. However, the levels of calcium and vitamin D may be checked before starting treatment with Problast Fem Capsule .
Problast Fem Capsule may cause hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine) if used in excess doses. Therefore, to prevent such a condition, take Problast Fem Capsule in doses and for a duration as advised by a doctor.
You are not recommended to take Problast Fem Capsule with levothyroxine as co-administration of these two medicines at the same time may reduce the effectiveness of levothyroxine. However, if you are supposed to take both medicines, you are advised to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 4 hours between taking Problast Fem Capsule and levothyroxine.
Problast Fem Capsule is not recommended for patients having kidney stones, as it may worsen the condition. Therefore, inform your doctor if you have kidney stones or any other kidney problems before taking Problast Fem Capsule .
If you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, please consult your doctor, as they will only recommend it if the benefits are greater than the risks. Always seek medical advice before taking any supplement during pregnancy.
You are recommended to consult your doctor before taking Problast Fem Capsule . Both the mother's and the baby’s calcium levels may be monitored for safety.
You are advised to take Problast Fem Capsule as directed by your doctor and not exceed the recommended daily dose. Please follow your doctor's instructions on how many doses of Problast Fem Capsule to take at a time, as it varies for everyone based on their health condition.
You are recommended to avoid taking Problast Fem Capsule if you have hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood), hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid glands), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, kidney stones, hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine), impaired kidney function or vitamin D toxicity. Also, Problast Fem Capsule is contraindicated with patients on a low-sodium diet. Therefore, please consult your doctor before taking Problast Fem Capsule if you have any of these conditions.
Take Problast Fem Capsule as directed by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it.
Yes, Problast Fem Capsule may cause side effects such as constipation and flatulence (gas). These do not require any medical attention as they will gradually reduce over time. However, please contact a doctor if these side effects persist longer.
