Lichansa Ointment is a dermatological combination medication used to reduce swelling, itching and redness caused by certain fungal skin infections. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the skin tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).

Lichansa Ointment contains Boric acid, clotrimazole (antifungal), menthol, and zinc oxide. Clotrimazole belongs to the antifungal class that works by causing holes in the fungal cell membranes and killing fungi. Borax and Zinc oxide are additive minerals that provide necessary nutrients, remove dead skin cells, and prevent microbes on the skin surface.

Lichansa Ointment is only for external use. Some people may experience dry skin, itching, irritation, redness or a burning sensation at the application site. Most of the side effects of Lichansa Ointment do not require medical attention and usually resolve on their own over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Directions for Use

Lichansa Ointment is only for external use. Take a small amount of Lichansa Ointment on the fingertip and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid contact of the Lichansa Ointment with the nose or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands before and after using Lichansa Ointment if your hands are not the affected area to prevent the spread of infection.

  • Regularly change your socks and wash your feet. Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.
  • In wet places such as changing rooms and gym showers, don't walk on barefoot. Wear flip-flops or sandals to prevent fungal infections.
  • Do not scratch the affected area of skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
  • Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.
  • Consuming food rich in probiotics helps in developing the immune system against allergies.
  • Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and fish in your diet.
  • Avoid getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents and rough fabrics.
