For immediate relief from redness and itching, you can apply a mild over-the-counter topical hydrocortisone cream (1%) to the affected areas for a few days. Taking a daily non-drowsy oral antihistamine, such as cetirizine or loratadine, can also help reduce the allergic response. To soothe the skin, you can use calamine lotion or pure aloe vera gel. Moving forward, prevent flare-ups by wearing protective clothing and consistently applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher containing physical blockers like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
