I have developed red rashes on my ankle. What could be the cause, and how should I treat it?
Red rashes on the ankle may be caused by insect bites, an allergic reaction to footwear or creams, or a mild skin infection. It is important to keep the area clean, avoid scratching, and use a simple moisturiser or an over-the-counter antihistamine cream if itching is present. Wearing loose breathable footwear and avoiding any suspected irritants may also help the skin heal. If the rash spreads, becomes painful or warm, or does not improve within a few days, please consult a doctor for proper assessment and treatment.
