About Tenolam Tablet
Tenolam Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called antiretrovirals used to treat HIV infection. Tenolam Tablet helps in decreasing the chance of developing AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system and destroys the white blood cells that help in fighting infection, making the individual susceptible to other infections or illnesses.
Tenolam Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely: Lamivudine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. Lamivudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, whereas Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Tenolam Tablet works by interfering with the working of nucleotide and nucleoside reverse transcriptase enzymes necessary for the reproduction of the virus. Together, Tenolam Tablet helps in treating HIV infection.
Take Tenolam Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Tenolam Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, or rash. Most of these side effects of Tenolam Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Tenolam Tablet or any other medicines, soya or peanut, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy, please consult a doctor before taking Tenolam Tablet . Avoid breastfeeding while taking Tenolam Tablet as it may pass into breast milk. Tenolam Tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. You are recommended to avoid the consumption of alcohol with Tenolam Tablet as it may increase the risk of liver damage.
