Nucala 100 mg Injection is used in the treatment of Asthma. The detailed uses of Nucala 100 mg Injection are as follows:

• Severe eosinophilic asthma: Nucala 100 mg Injection is used as an add-on maintenance treatment for patients aged 6 years and older with severe asthma characterized by high levels of eosinophils. It helps reduce inflammation in the airways and lowers the frequency of asthma attacks.
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): Nucala 100 mg Injection is used in adults with eosinophilic COPD whose symptoms are not adequately controlled with standard inhalers. It works by reducing eosinophil-driven inflammation, improving breathing and quality of life.
• Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP): Nucala 100 mg Injection is used in adults whose nasal polyps are not controlled with corticosteroids. It helps reduce nasal congestion, discharge, and the need for surgery.
• Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA): Nucala 100 mg Injection is used to treat this rare autoimmune condition that involves asthma, high eosinophil counts, and blood vessel inflammation. It helps reduce flare-ups and steroid dependence.
• Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES): Nucala 100 mg Injection is used in adults and children aged 12 and older who have had HES for at least 6 months without a known secondary cause. It helps lower eosinophil counts and control symptoms.

Nucala 100 mg Injection contains Mepolizumab, which is a humanized recombinant IgG1 (Immunoglobulin G1) monoclonal antibody. It works by preventing the body's natural production of certain chemicals that increase asthma symptoms, like coughing, wheezing, chest pain, and breathing difficulties.

• Follow your doctor’s recommendations for the correct dosage and timing of this medication.
• The first dose of Nucala 100 mg Injection may be administered by the doctor. After that, your doctor may allow you or a caregiver to administer it at home. Check the label for directions and use it as advised by the doctor. Choose an injection site such as the thigh or abdomen; pinch the skin and inject the advised dose slowly and steadily.
• Rotate the injection site each time. Do not inject into skin that is red, bruised, or hard.

• Maintain proper weight by following a healthy and well-balanced diet.

• Try to avoid stress by practising meditation or yoga.
