• Colorectal cancer: Lupitux Injection helps by targeting and blocking specific proteins that cause advanced or spreading bowel cancer cells to grow and multiply, often given alone or in combination with standard bowel cancer chemotherapy regimens (such as FOLFIRI or FOLFOX).
• Head and neck cancer: Lupitux Injection helps by shrinking tumours or stopping them from spreading when used alone or alongside radiation therapy or platinum-based chemotherapy (such as cisplatin) for squamous cell cancers of the head and neck.

• Protect your skin from the sun: This medicine makes your skin highly sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light. Wear protective clothing, wide-brimmed hats, and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily, even on cloudy days.
• Moisturise gently and follow preventive skin care: Use thick, alcohol-free moisturisers and mild, fragrance-free soaps. Avoid harsh over-the-counter acne products. Your oncology team may also prescribe preventive treatments from the start of therapy to reduce rash severity. These may include certain prescription oral antibiotics (such as doxycycline) or mild steroid creams (topical corticosteroids).
• Stay hydrated and monitor minerals: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Because this medicine can cause low blood magnesium levels (hypomagnesaemia), your doctor will check your electrolyte levels before each infusion and periodically after treatment ends. If your levels drop below healthy clinical thresholds, oral supplements or intravenous (IV, given through a drip) magnesium replacement will be administered.
• Practice gentle nail care: Keep your fingernails and toenails clean and trimmed straight across to prevent painful nail bed infections. Wear protective gloves when washing dishes or doing yard work.

• Inspect the solution: Before your injection, your healthcare team will check that the solution is clear to slightly colored and free of visible particles. You have the right to ask them to confirm this check.
• Expect routine monitoring: You should expect regular blood tests before each infusion to track your magnesium, electrolyte, and blood count levels, as well as routine skin assessments by your care team.
• Know when to seek urgent medical care: Seek emergency attention if you experience red-flag symptoms such as sudden difficulty breathing, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, severe infusion-related fever or chills, or severe, painful skin blistering and cracking.

• Avoid pregnancy and use effective contraception: Both female and male patients should use highly effective birth control during treatment and for at least two months after the final dose, as this medicine can cause harm to an unborn baby.
• Limit alcohol intake: Avoid drinking alcohol during your treatment, as it can worsen dehydration and skin dryness associated with this medicine.
