About Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule

Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule is an anti-cancer medicine used in the treatment of various types of cancers. Cancer is a disease caused by the abnormal growth of cells that divide uncontrollably. This medicine is used in treating hepatocellular carcinoma as a first-line therapy, differentiated thyroid cancer in patients with locally recurrent or metastatic, progressive, radioactive iodine-refractory, advanced renal cell carcinoma in combination with pembrolizumab, and advanced endometrial cancer in combination with pembrolizumab.

Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule contains Lenvatinib, which belongs to the class of medicines known as kinase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the action of an enzyme (tyrosine kinase) and thus stops the abnormal growth of cancer cells.

Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule may cause certain side effects such as diarrhoea, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, itching, rash, headache, cough, abdominal pain, hoarseness, and dizziness. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects bother you. Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose of medicine.

If you are allergic to Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule or its components, inform your doctor. Before taking Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule , inform your doctor if you have/had liver or kidney disease, calcium deficiency, heart problems, increased blood pressure, seizures, bleeding disorders, vision problems, and a history of blood clots. Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule is used in the treatment of Renal Cell Carcinoma, Hepatocellular carcinoma, Differentiated thyroid cancer and Endometrial cancer. The detailed uses of Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule are as follows:<br/>• Thyroid cancer: Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule is used for treatment of specifically differentiated thyroid cancer.<br/>• Kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma): Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule is often used in combination with everolimus when other treatments have failed.<br/>• Endometrial cancer: Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule is used with pembrolizumab for advanced or recurrent cases that can’t be treated with surgery or radiation.<br/>• Liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma): Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule is used for the treatment of liver cancer.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule can be taken with or without food.• Take Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule once daily; however, follow your doctor's advice regarding the dosage and duration.• Swallow Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not crush, chew, open or split it.

Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule contains Lenvatinib, which belongs to the class of medicines known as kinase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the action of an enzyme (tyrosine kinase) and thus stops the abnormal growth of cancer cells.

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.• Keep Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule out of the sight and reach of children. • Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

What if I have taken an overdose of Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Using more medication will not improve your symptoms; instead, they may cause serious side effects or poisoning. If you suspect that you may have overdosed of Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule or observe any side effects, please go to the emergency department of the closest hospital or nursing home. No specific side effects have been reported under these circumstances.

Drug Warnings

To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule for the period that your doctor has prescribed. Avoid taking Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule if you are allergic to it or any other components present in it. Caution should be exercised if you have/had liver or kidney disease, any planned surgery, heart disease, stroke, blood or bleeding disorders, or gastrointestinal disorders. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant before starting the treatment, as this medicine is known to cause embryo-fetal toxicity. Breastfeeding should be discontinued in nursing mothers during the treatment as it passes into breast milk and may cause a possible risk to the infant. Avoid driving and operating machines, as this medicine may cause visual disturbances. This medicine is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy are not established. Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule may cause hypertension, thrombotic events, hemorrhagic events, hypothyroidism, gastrointestinal perforation and fistula, Reversible Posterior Leukoencephalopathy Syndrome (RPLS), elevated liver enzymes, kidney impairment, hypocalcemia, wound healing problems, and osteonecrosis in some patients. Hence, inform your doctor about your complete medication and medical history before taking Lenvamed 4 mg Capsule .
