About Iguseas Tablet

Iguseas Tablet is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune disease (the body's immune system attacks its tissue) which leads to joint pain and damage. It is characterised by loss of joint function, progressive bone destruction, and joint synovitis (inflammation of the joints).
 
Iguseas Tablet contains Iguratimod, which inhibits the production of immunoglobulins and inflammatory cytokines. It inhibits osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption, thereby stimulating bone metabolism. 
 
In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as stomach pain, dizziness, headache, itchiness, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Iguseas Tablet should be taken with food to avoid any stomach upset. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite or crush the medicine. You are advised to take Iguseas Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition.

  • Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE): Iguseas Tablet is used as an adjunct therapy to control immune overactivity.

Directions for Use

  • Iguseas Tablet can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with food may help prevent stomach discomfort.
  • It is usually taken 1-2 times daily, depending on your health condition and as advised by your doctor.
  • Swallow Iguseas Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
  • Do not break, chew, or crush it.

Side effects of Iguseas Tablet
  • Take prescribed antibiotics as directed to help fight the bacterial infection.
  • Use a cool-mist humidifier to add moisture to the air and relieve congestion.
  • Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, clear broths, and electrolyte-rich beverages to stay hydrated.
  • Use a saline nasal spray or rinse to help loosen and clear mucus from the nasal passages.
  • Consider taking over-the-counter medications, such as pain relievers and cough suppressants, as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • Follow a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to help support the immune system.
  • Avoid smoking to reduce irritation and inflammation in the lungs.
  • Inflammation in the lungs needs immediate medical attention. To manage this effect, the doctor's instructions must be followed strictly.
  • Intake of cod liver oil can smoothen the functioning of the body process.
  • Rest and refrain from physical activity, and restart after a few days.

  • Managing a low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) caused by medication usage requires a multi-step approach. Here are some steps to help manage the condition:
  • Inform your doctor about your low platelet count and medication usage. They will assess the situation and guide the best course of action.
  • Your doctor may recommend adjusting or stopping the medication that is causing a low platelet count. This could involve switching to alternative medication or reducing the dosage.
