Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet is used to treat mild to moderate pain in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. About Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet

Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet is used to treat mild to moderate pain in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering (cartilage). Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune disease (the body's immune system attacks its tissue) which leads to joint pain and damage.

 

Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in the body, known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical prostaglandins. These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, fewer prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

 

Take Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet with or after food. You are advised to take Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as stomach pain, diarrhoea, indigestion, headache, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you should talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Patients who are allergic to Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet or any of its ingredients, should avoid using Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet . However, if you are using Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet for the first time or if you are not aware of any allergy, please consult your doctor.

Prolonged use and high doses of Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet may cause kidney problems, such as blood or protein in urine and pain during urination. Patients with impaired kidney function, heart failure, and hypertension (high blood pressure) are at risk of kidney problems. Patients taking medicines that cause excess urination (diuretics), or medicines which have significant impact on kidney function are also at higher risk of developing kidney problems. Additionally, Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet can affect kidneys of patients who are over 65 years of age or who remain dehydrated. Thus, monitoring of kidney function is recommended for such patients.

Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet may cause drowsiness and also dizziness and visual disturbances. However, not everyone taking Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet will have these effects. If you experience these symptoms, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet is effective if used in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Even if you see improvement in your condition, do not stop using Etolgia-XR 600 mg Tablet too early as the symptoms may return or worsen.
