Diof Suspension is used in the treatment of various bacterial and parasitic infections. Its detailed uses are as follows:

• Gastrointestinal infections: It may be prescribed for certain bacterial or mixed infections of the stomach and intestines when both components are considered appropriate.
• Bacterial diarrhea and dysentery: It may help treat selected bacterial causes of diarrhea or dysentery by eliminating susceptible bacteria. It should not be used routinely for every episode of diarrhea.
• Gynecological infections: In some situations, the combination may be prescribed for specific mixed bacterial infections of the female reproductive tract when the causative organisms are susceptible.
• Dental infections: It may be used in selected dental or gum infections involving susceptible bacteria, particularly when anaerobic bacteria are suspected.

Diof Suspension combines two antibiotics with different mechanisms of action. When prescribed for an infection caused by susceptible organisms, the combination can help eliminate the bacteria and certain parasites responsible for the illness, allowing infection-related symptoms to improve.

For appropriate gastrointestinal infections, successful treatment may help reduce symptoms such as frequent stools, abdominal discomfort, and infection-related weakness. However, antibiotics do not treat viral diarrhea, and fluid and electrolyte replacement remain important when diarrhea causes significant fluid loss.

• Diof Suspension may be taken with or without food (excluding dairy), but taking it with food may lessen stomach discomfort.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Check the label for directions. Shake the bottle well before each use.
• Take the prescribed dose orally using the measuring cup provided with the package.
• Avoid using regular household spoons, as they may not accurately measure the dose correctly.

• Stay hydrated: Drink enough water and consider oral rehydration solution if you have significant diarrhea or fluid loss. This helps replace fluids and electrolytes lost through frequent stools.
• Choose easily tolerated foods: During digestive illness, simple foods such as rice, bananas, toast, or other foods that you tolerate well may be easier to digest. Return gradually to your normal balanced diet as you recover.
• Separate calcium-containing products from ofloxacin: Calcium can reduce absorption of the ofloxacin component. Avoid taking ofloxacin at the same time as milk, yogurt, calcium-fortified drinks, or calcium supplements. Follow the specific spacing instructions provided with your product or by your pharmacist.
• Avoid alcohol: Do not drink alcohol while taking metronidazole and for at least 48–72 hours after the final dose, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Combining alcohol with metronidazole may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, flushing, or headache.

• Protect your skin: Ofloxacin may increase sensitivity to sunlight in some people. Limit unnecessary sun exposure and use protective clothing or sunscreen when outdoors.
• Watch for tendon problems: Stop the medicine and contact your doctor promptly if you develop new tendon pain, swelling, or stiffness. Avoid strenuous exercise involving the affected area until you receive medical advice.
• Be careful with driving: Ofloxacin and metronidazole may cause dizziness or other nervous-system effects in some people. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy, confused, unusually sleepy, or less alert.
• Monitor for nerve symptoms: Tell your doctor promptly if you develop persistent numbness, tingling, burning, or weakness in your hands or feet.
• Complete the prescribed course: Take the medicine for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop early simply because you feel better, unless your doctor advises you to do so.
