Coatz AF Syrup 100 ml

Coatz AF Syrup is used to treat gastrointestinal problems involving acidity, gas, and ulcers. The detailed uses of Coatz AF Syrup are as follows:

• Gastric ulcers: Coatz AF Syrup is used to protect the stomach lining and promote healing of ulcers.
• Duodenal ulcers: Coatz AF Syrup is useful for treating and healing ulcers in the upper part of the small intestine.
• Heartburn and acid reflux: Coatz AF Syrup reduces burning sensations caused by excess stomach acid.
• Bloating and gas: Coatz AF Syrup helps relieve gas-related discomfort and abdominal distension.

Coatz AF Syrup belongs to a group of medicines called antiulcerants used to treat bloating, gas and stomach ulcers. Coatz AF Syrup is a combination of three drugs: Sucralfate (anti-ulcer), Simethicone (anti-flatulent) and Oxetacaine (Local anaesthetic). Sucralfate protects the damaged ulcer tissue in the stomach and facilitates its healing. Simethicone is a mixture of silica gel and dimethicone. It is also known as activated dimethicone. Simethicone works by lowering the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract. Oxetacaine exerts a numbing effect, thereby providing relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach. Together, Coatz AF Syrup provides relief from bloating and ulcers.

• Take Coatz AF Syrup with or without food as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor’s instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Take the prescribed dose by mouth using the measuring cup/dosing syringe/dropper.
• Do not use kitchen spoons for measuring the dose. Shake the bottle well before each use.

• Eat smaller meals more often.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
• Avoid lying down after eating to prevent acid backflow.
• Avoid tight-fitting clothes as it might increase the pressure on the abdomen leading to acid reflux.
• Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
• Practise relaxation techniques and avoid stress by doing yoga or meditation.
• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea and soda. 
• Avoid sitting continuously as it may trigger acidity. Take a break of 5 minutes every hour by doing brisk walking or stretching.

Do not take Coatz AF Syrup if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor if you have a history of appendicitis, blockage of the bowel, rectal bleeding, kidney problems, if you are on a low-magnesium diet or if you have undergone recent bowel surgery. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Coatz AF Syrup should not be given to children as safety has not been established.
