About Cilnitrust Trio Tablet

Cilnitrust Trio Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults. Hypertension is a condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls is very high. It will be an addition to the workload of the heart and arteries.

Cilnitrust Trio Tablet is a combination of three drugs, namely: Chlorthalidone (diuretic), Cilnidipine (calcium channel blocker), and Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor blocker). Chlorthalidone belongs to the class of diuretics (water tablets) that work by increasing the removal of excess water and certain salts, such as sodium and potassium, from the blood. This removal of water from blood reduces the fluid volume circulating through blood vessels and improves blood flow. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that acts on muscle cells in the artery walls and relaxes muscle cells. Thereby, it relaxes and widens arteries (blood vessels) and improves the blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. Telmisartan works by blocking a hormone called angiotensin II in the body that causes the narrowing of blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Thereby, Cilnitrust Trio Tablet widens and relaxes blood vessels. Thus, it lowers high blood pressure.

Take Cilnitrust Trio Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Cilnitrust Trio Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, stomach upset, or tiredness. Most of these side effects of Cilnitrust Trio Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Cilnitrust Trio Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Cilnitrust Trio Tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, avoid taking Cilnitrust Trio Tablet and consult a doctor. What if I have taken an overdose of Cilnitrust Trio Tablet

Take Cilnitrust Trio Tablet only as prescribed by the physician. Do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. If you suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to Cilnitrust Trio Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Cilnitrust Trio Tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, avoid taking Cilnitrust Trio Tablet and consult a doctor. If you are about to take anesthesia or undergo any surgery, you are advised to inform your doctor that you are taking Cilnitrust Trio Tablet . Avoid taking Cilnitrust Trio Tablet if you have low levels of sodium or potassium in the blood, gout, kidney stones, Addison’s disease (adrenal gland does not produce sufficient steroids), high blood levels of calcium, or severe liver or kidney problems. Drive only if you are alert as Cilnitrust Trio Tablet may cause dizziness or tiredness. You are recommended to avoid alcohol consumption with Cilnitrust Trio Tablet as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Maintain a low-salt diet and minimize eating processed foods as they contain more sodium. Try to replace salt with spices or herbs to add flavor to the food.

  • Do regular exercise such as cycling, walking, jogging, dancing, or swimming for a minimum of 30 minutes per day.

  • Chronic stress may also cause high blood pressure. Therefore, avoid stress by changing your expectations, reacting in certain situations, and doing activities that you enjoy by making time for yourself.

  • Maintain a diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products.

  • Try to include heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acid-containing foods in your daily diet. You can also use low-fat cooking oil like olive oil, soybean oil, canola oil, and coconut oil which may help in lowering high blood pressure.

  • Quit smoking and avoid the consumption of alcohol.

You are not recommended to take ibuprofen with Cilnitrust Trio Tablet as it may reduce the effect of Cilnitrust Trio Tablet and increase the risk of impaired kidney function. However, if you experience loss of appetite, sudden weight loss or weight gain, weakness, muscle cramps, vomiting, nausea, decreased or increased urination, irregular heart rhythm, and fluid retention, please consult a doctor immediately. If you are supposed to use these medicines together, you are advised to contact your doctor so that the dose may be adjusted to use safely.

Cilnitrust Trio Tablet may increase potassium levels in the blood. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid intake of potassium supplements and foods that are rich in potassium such as bananas, sweet potatoes, nuts, and noni juice with Cilnitrust Trio Tablet as it may result in hyperkalaemia (high levels of potassium in the blood) and cause severe adverse effects such as irregular heartbeat, muscle paralysis, and kidney failure.

Cilnitrust Trio Tablet may cause dizziness in some patients. Therefore, if you feel dizzy after taking Cilnitrust Trio Tablet , avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

You are not recommended to stop taking Cilnitrust Trio Tablet without consulting your doctor even if you find symptomatic relief as it may worsen the condition. Therefore, take Cilnitrust Trio Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, and if you experience any difficulty while using Cilnitrust Trio Tablet , please consult your doctor.

Cilnitrust Trio Tablet may cause side effects like dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, stomach upset, or tiredness. Most of these side effects of Cilnitrust Trio Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

Follow a low-salt diet; limit sodium to no more than 2,300 mg a day. Include fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet. Reduce saturated fats and processed/fried foods.
