About Telicad-3d Tablet

Telicad-3d Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults. Hypertension is a condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls is very high.

Telicad-3d Tablet contains Chlorthalidone, Cilnidipine, and Telmisartan, which work by relaxing and widening the blood vessels and facilitating the removal of excess water.

In some cases, you may experience dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, stomach upset, or tiredness. Most of these side effects of Telicad-3d Tablet do not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

How Telicad-3d Tablet Works

Telicad-3d Tablet is a combination of three drugs, namely: Chlorthalidone (diuretic), Cilnidipine (calcium channel blocker), and Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor blocker). Chlorthalidone belongs to the class of diuretics (water tablets) that work by increasing the removal of excess water and certain salts, such as sodium and potassium, from the blood. This removal of water from blood reduces the fluid volume circulating through blood vessels and improves blood flow. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that acts on muscle cells in the artery walls and relaxes muscle cells. Thereby, it relaxes and widens arteries (blood vessels) and improves the blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. Telmisartan works by blocking a hormone called angiotensin II in the body that causes the narrowing of blood vessels, leading to high blood pressure. Thereby, Telicad-3d Tablet widens and relaxes blood vessels. Thus, it lowers high blood pressure.

However, if you experience loss of appetite, sudden weight loss or weight gain, weakness, muscle cramps, vomiting, nausea, decreased or increased urination, irregular heart rhythm, and fluid retention, please consult a doctor immediately. If you are supposed to use these medicines together, you are advised to contact your doctor so that the dose may be adjusted to be used safely.

Telicad-3d Tablet may increase potassium levels in the blood. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid the intake of potassium supplements and foods that are rich in potassium, such as bananas, sweet potatoes, nuts, and noni juice, as it may result in hyperkalaemia (high levels of potassium in the blood) and cause severe adverse effects such as irregular heartbeat, muscle paralysis, and kidney failure.
