Candid TV Suspension 60 ml is a topical combination medication primarily used to treat fungal skin infections, such as seborrhic dermatitis (dandruff) and tinea versicolor (a small patch of discoloured skin). Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include a scaly rash and discoloured skin, which is very itchy in nature.

Candid TV Suspension 60 ml is composed of two medicines: 'Clotrimazole' (antifungal) and 'Selenium sulfide' (anti-infective). Clotrimazole works by stopping the growth of the fungi cell by causing damage and leaking out all content, thereby killing it. On the other hand, Selenium sulphide is an anti-infective agent that relieves itching and flaking of the scalp and removes the dry, scaly particles. Besides this, it also reduces skin damage due to infection by decreasing flaking or scaling of the skin, which helps in new skin formation. Together Candid TV Suspension 60 ml treats various fungal skin infections and dandruff from the scalp.

Candid TV Suspension 60 ml is for topical (for skin use) only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or open-cut wounds, immediately rinse with cold water. Candid TV Suspension 60 ml has common side effects like itching, dryness, redness, swelling, and burning sensation at the application site. Directions for Use

  • Typically, it is applied once daily or used as directed by your doctor.

Candid TV Suspension 60 ml consists of Clotrimazole and Selenium sulfide. Clotrimazole, an antifungal drug, stops fungi growth by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. If you need to apply the shampoo on light, blonde, grey or chemically treated (bleached, tinted, permanent-waved) hair, rinse your hair thoroughly for 5 minutes to decrease the chances of discolouration. Do not immediately apply it to the treated hair. Remove hair grips and other accessories before using the shampoo.

Candid TV Suspension 60 ml is for topical (for skin) use only. Do not apply it onto the face and genitals. Do not put bandage or dressing on the affected area while treating with Candid TV Suspension 60 ml unless the doctor advised. Candid TV Suspension 60 ml is effective against Trichophyton species which cause athlete’s foot, ringworm infection, and jock itch (fungal infection of the skin in the groin or buttocks). It is also effective against yeast, known as Candida, which commonly causes vaginal thrush (infection caused by an overgrowth of yeast called candida albicans).

The symptoms of skin infection, such as soreness or itching, usually improves within a few days of treatment. However, signs such as scaling and redness may take longer to disappear. Do not stop using Candid TV Suspension 60 ml before the prescribed duration, even if you feel better.

You should use Candid TV Suspension 60 ml for as long as it is advised by your doctor. The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection. Usually, for tinea infection, the treatment is continued for 1 month and for candida infection, for at least for 15 days. Do not stop using Candid TV Suspension 60 ml on your own even if you feel better as the infection may reoccur as Candid TV Suspension 60 ml takes some time to kill the fungus.

Candid TV Suspension 60 ml is safe for use in children only with a doctor's advice. If you have any concerns regarding the use of Candid TV Suspension 60 ml for children, please consult your doctor.

Keep the affected areas of the skin clean and dry but avoid excessive rubbing. Although, itching may want you to scratch, avoid scratching as it will damage the skin’s surface and cause the infection to spread further. Avoid sharing towels, bath mats, etc. with other people as you could spread the infection to them.

Candid TV Suspension 60 ml may reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives, like condoms and diaphragms. If you are using the cream on the penis or vulva, you are recommended to use alternative contraceptive methods, for at least 5 days after using Candid TV Suspension 60 ml.
