Biup Injection may be prescribed to treat the following types of bacterial infections:

• Lower respiratory tract infections: Helps clear deep chest and lung infections, such as severe pneumonia.
• Intra-abdominal infections: Treats serious bacterial infections inside the belly, including peritonitis.
• Complicated urinary tract infections: Targets severe infections in the kidneys or bladder that do not respond to standard treatments.
• Gynaecological infections: Resolves severe bacterial infections in the pelvic and reproductive organs.

Biup Injection is a carbapenem antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections. It works by interfering with bacterial cell-wall formation, helping eliminate susceptible bacteria and control the infection.

• Treats Serious Bacterial Infections: Helps eliminate susceptible bacteria responsible for complicated infections that may require injectable antibiotic treatment.
• Provides Broad-Spectrum Antibacterial Action: Acts against a wide range of susceptible bacteria, making it useful for certain complicated infections.
• Helps Control Infection-Related Symptoms: As the bacterial infection improves, symptoms such as fever, pain, swelling, and general weakness may gradually decrease.
• Helps Prevent the Spread of Infection: Effective treatment can reduce the risk of a serious infection worsening or spreading to other parts of the body.

• Follow your doctor’s instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Biup Injection will be administered by a nurse or doctor.
• Do not self-administer.

• Stay Well-Hydrated: Drink adequate fluids unless your doctor has advised you to restrict them, particularly if you have kidney or heart problems.
• Support Gut Health: If appropriate for you, probiotic-rich foods such as plain yoghurt may help support healthy gut bacteria during or after antibiotic treatment.
• Get Adequate Rest: Allow your body sufficient rest and sleep while recovering from the infection.
• Avoid Excessive Alcohol: Limit or avoid alcohol while recovering from a serious infection, particularly if you feel unwell or are taking other medicines that may affect the liver.

• Inspect the Injection Before Use: Do not use the solution if it appears discoloured, cloudy, or contains visible particles.
• Complete the Prescribed Course: Take Biup Injection for the full duration recommended by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve earlier.
• Monitor the Injection Site: Inform your healthcare provider if you develop increasing pain, redness, warmth, swelling, or other signs of irritation at the injection site.
• Inform Your Doctor About Seizure Disorders: Tell your doctor if you have a history of epilepsy, seizures, or other neurological disorders, as carbapenem antibiotics may increase the risk of seizures in susceptible individuals.
• Report Severe Diarrhoea: Contact your doctor if you develop severe, persistent, watery, or bloody diarrhoea during or after treatment. Do not take anti-diarrhoeal medicines without medical advice, as they may be inappropriate in antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.
