What could be causing my ongoing symptoms of a swollen and sore penis opening, groin pain, heavy testicles, a split urine stream, frequent and urgent urination, and occasional discharge, given that multiple antibiotics?including Doxycycline, moxifloxacin, metronidazole, amikacin, ceftriaxone, and a 28-day course of levofloxacin?have not cured me, all scans and STD tests are normal except for a swab showing *Enterococcus* bacteria, and doctors suspect long-term prostate inflammation?
I am so sorry you are going through this exhausting ordeal. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with persistent pain and urinary symptoms after taking so many strong antibiotics. Since your tests are mostly clear and antibiotics haven't resolved this, your symptoms are likely due to chronic prostate inflammation (prostatitis) or pelvic floor muscle tension, rather than an active infection. Even when bacteria like *Enterococcus* are cleared, the surrounding nerves and muscles can remain highly sensitive and inflamed. Please don't lose hope. I highly recommend discussing non-antibiotic options with a urologist, such as pelvic floor physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, or alpha-blockers to help relax your muscles. You can get through this.
