I am having thyroid problems with high TSH levels, along with depression, memory issues, tiredness, fast heartbeat, hand shaking, and sexual problems. What should I do?
High TSH levels usually suggest that the thyroid gland is underactive, and this can affect energy, mood, memory, concentration, body temperature, and sexual health. Tiredness, low motivation, depression-like symptoms, poor focus, constipation, weight changes, and reduced sexual interest are common in many people with uncontrolled thyroid imbalance. Hand shaking and a fast heartbeat may also occur due to stress, anxiety, medication imbalance, caffeine intake, or other hormone-related changes. Management usually focuses on correcting thyroid hormone levels properly and monitoring symptoms over time. Thyroid medicines often need dose adjustment based on repeat TSH testing because both low and excessive thyroid hormone replacement can affect the heart, mood, and energy levels. Good sleep, regular exercise, balanced nutrition, stress reduction, and limiting excess caffeine may also help improve concentration and fatigue. Doctors may sometimes evaluate vitamin B12, vitamin D, anaemia, testosterone, blood sugar, or mental health factors if symptoms continue despite thyroid treatment. Severe chest pain, worsening tremors, suicidal thoughts, or sudden confusion should be evaluated promptly.
