I have been experiencing sharp chest pain along with left arm and shoulder pain for 10 months, and even though my previous heart rhythm tests (ECGs), heart ultrasounds, and treadmill stress tests were all normal six months ago, I am still in pain despite taking propranolol (Inderal) 10mg?should I get these heart tests repeated, or what do you suggest I do next?
It is highly reassuring that your cardiac tests six months ago were completely normal, making a serious heart issue less likely at your age. Since the pain persists, I suggest scheduling a follow-up with your doctor. They can evaluate whether your propranolol needs adjusting or if we should explore non-cardiac causes, such as acid reflux or muscle strain, which can easily mimic these symptoms. Please seek immediate emergency care if your pain suddenly worsens, or if you experience shortness of breath, sweating, or dizziness.
