I have digestion problems with short episodes of stomach pain. What could be the cause, and how can I treat it?
Short episodes of stomach pain, along with digestive problems, may be caused by indigestion, gas formation, irregular eating habits, eating too quickly, or consuming oily, spicy, or heavy foods. In some people, stress and anxiety can also affect digestion and lead to discomfort. Less commonly, conditions such as acid reflux, gastritis, or food intolerance may be responsible. To manage this, try eating smaller meals at regular times and chewing your food slowly. Avoid skipping meals, overeating, and lying down immediately after eating. Reduce the intake of fried, spicy, and processed foods, and drink enough water throughout the day. Including light foods such as rice, curd, bananas, and cooked vegetables may help soothe the stomach. Regular physical activity, such as walking or cycling, can also improve digestion. If the pain becomes frequent or severe, or is associated with vomiting, weight loss, or blood in the stool, please consult a doctor for proper evaluation and treatment.
