rectal pain during a bowel movement. My eight-month-old child, who is constipated, was given halen.
Constipation and hard stools, which can occasionally result in a little tear close to the anus, are frequently the source of rectal pain during bowel movements in an 8-month-old infant. If the baby has begun solid foods, offer soft foods such mashed fruits, veggies, or prunes; maintain nursing or regular feedings; and give plenty of fluids if age-appropriate. Use Halen only as prescribed by the child's physician. If there is blood in the stool, vomiting, enlarged abdomen, fever, or persistent constipation, do not force bowel movements and consult a paediatrician.
