I am having chest pain. An ECG was performed twice and revealed normal heartbeats despite the left side of the chest being painful.
If your ECG is normal but you still have left-sided chest pain, it is often due to non-cardiac causes like muscle strain, acidity (Gastroesophageal reflux disease), anxiety, or costochondritis (inflammation of chest wall joints). The pain usually worsens with movement, deep breathing, or after meals in such cases. Try rest, avoid heavy/spicy food, and you may use simple relief like Paracetamol if needed. However, if the pain is severe, spreading to arm/jaw, associated with sweating, breathlessness, or keeps recurring, do not ignore it, consult a doctor or cardiologist for further tests like a stress test or echo to be safe.
