Are there other medications that can help stop the constant fluid draining from my ear, since my current drops, Ciplox-D, are not working and I only have 40% of my hearing left in my right ear?
I am so sorry you are going through this. Experiencing persistent ear drainage and hearing loss can be very stressful. Since the ciprofloxacin-dexamethasone (Ciplox-D) drops are not working, your doctor may consider alternative ear drops, such as ofloxacin, or oral antibiotics if the infection is deeper. Because of your significant hearing loss, it is incredibly important to have an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist examine your ear. They can safely clean the ear, check for a perforated eardrum, and find the right treatment to protect and help restore your hearing. Please schedule an appointment soon so we can get you some relief.
