Is it safe to use Duonase nasal spray or another medication to relieve a stuffy, blocked nose in my 3-year-old son (14 kg) who has a history of enlarged adenoids and is currently taking Augmentin DDS, Azitral, Timic, and Crocin DS?
I understand how worrisome it is to see your little one struggling with a blocked nose. Because Duonase nasal spray (containing azelastine and fluticasone) is generally not recommended for children under 6 years old, it is best to avoid it for your 3-year-old son. Since he is already taking several medications, including Augmentin DDS, Azitral, Timic, and Crocin DS, adding another medicated spray without a doctor's guidance could cause side effects. For safe and gentle relief, you can use simple saline nasal drops to clear his stuffy nose. Please consult his pediatrician before introducing any new medicine.
