Is it normal for a swollen gland on the left side of my neck to feel hard like a stone and hurt when pressed, even though my neck ultrasound was normal and the swelling went down after taking Deflazacort, Cymoral AP, Augmentin, and Povitotal gargle?
Hello. It is very reassuring that your neck ultrasound was normal and the swelling decreased after taking your medications, including Augmentin and Deflazacort. When a lymph node reacts to an infection or inflammation, it can sometimes feel quite hard and remain tender as it heals. This is a common healing response. Since your imaging was clear and the treatment worked, there is likely no cause for worry. However, if the gland starts growing again, remains stone-hard for several weeks, or if you develop new symptoms, please follow up with your doctor just to be safe. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
