I had stenting done in August 2018 and take Amaryl 1 mg before breakfast, Cardace 2.5 mg, Clopilet-A 150, and Atorvastatin 20 mg daily. My fasting blood sugar is still around 145?150 mg/dL. What should I do to control it better?
Your fasting blood sugar of 145-150 mg/dL is higher than the usual target, so better control is needed to protect your heart and overall health, especially after stenting. Along with your current medicines like Amaryl, Cardace, Clopilet-A, and Atorvastatin, focus on lifestyle changes such as eating smaller, balanced meals with less sugar and refined carbs (avoid sweets, white rice in excess), increasing fibre (vegetables, whole grains), walking or exercising for at least 30 minutes daily, and maintaining a healthy weight. It is also important to monitor your blood sugar regularly and get an HbA1c test to assess long-term control. Since your levels are still high, your doctor may need to adjust the dose or add another diabetes medicine, so do not change anything on your own and follow up for proper guidance.
