I am currently using a derma roller for my acne scars under my dermatologist's guidance. Please recommend some effective Vitamin C or Vitamin E serums that are safe to apply after dermarolling for better results.
After dermarolling, your skin becomes more delicate and sensitive for a short period. During this time, it is important to keep your skincare routine very gentle. Do not apply vitamin C or vitamin E immediately after the procedure. It is better to wait at least 24 to 48 hours, or until any redness, burning, or discomfort has completely settled. Once your skin has calmed down, you can slowly reintroduce a mild vitamin C serum, preferably around 10% strength, as stronger formulations may irritate healing skin. Lightweight serums, such as Minimalist 10% Vitamin C Serum or Deconstruct 10% Vitamin C Serum, are usually better tolerated after such procedures. Vitamin C can help improve skin brightness and support natural collagen production, which may gradually reduce the appearance of acne scars. Vitamin E may help with skin repair and dryness, but it should be used in light, non-greasy formulations to avoid clogging pores, especially if you have acne-prone skin. Always do a small patch test before regular use and use sunscreen daily, as your skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight after dermarolling. Use these products only as advised by your dermatologist and stop if irritation develops.
