I have pain in my right testicle along with pain in my right leg. My doctor said it may be orchitis and prescribed Hetrazan and Zerodol-SP. Are these medicines appropriate?
Pain in the testicle, along with leg pain, can occur due to orchitis, which is inflammation of the testicle, sometimes caused by infection or swelling in nearby tissues. Hetrazan is usually prescribed when a parasitic infection such as filariasis is suspected, while Zerodol-SP helps reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. These medicines can be appropriate depending on the suspected cause of your symptoms and your doctor's examination findings. Along with taking the medicines as prescribed, try to rest, avoid heavy physical activity, wear supportive underwear, and avoid lifting heavy weights until the pain improves. Applying a cold pack gently over the area for short periods may also help reduce discomfort. However, if you develop severe swelling, fever, redness, burning during urination, vomiting, sudden severe pain, or worsening symptoms, you should seek urgent medical attention because some testicular conditions need immediate treatment. If the pain does not improve, your doctor may advise further tests such as urine tests, blood tests, or an ultrasound scan of the scrotum to confirm the exact cause and guide treatment properly.
