I have milia in my genital area. Will this Tretin 0.025% Cream be effective?
Milia are small, benign cysts caused by trapped keratin under the skin. They are more common on the face but can occasionally appear in other areas, including the genital region. Topical tretinoin (0.025% w/w) is sometimes used to help with milia because it promotes skin cell turnover, but the genital area is very sensitive, and applying tretinoin there can cause irritation, redness, burning, or discomfort. Because of the location, it is essential not to self-treat with prescription creams without medical guidance. A dermatologist or gynaecologist/urologist can confirm whether the bumps are truly milia (as other conditions can look similar) and advise on safe treatment options. In many cases, milia can be removed in-hospital with a minor procedure rather than with topical medication.
