I have been experiencing acute fever, headache, body pain, joint and bone pain for the past two days. I am unable to touch my skin or walk properly due to a burning sensation in my hands and feet, and there is mild swelling in my fingers and legs. I have taken Sumo tablet, Allegra 120, paracetamol, and Ultracet. What treatment and diet would you recommend?
Your symptoms of acute fever, severe body, joint and bone pain, along with burning sensation and swelling, may be due to a viral infection such as Dengue fever or flu, but the severity of pain and swelling should not be ignored. Take adequate rest, stay well hydrated with water, ORS, coconut water, and eat light foods like soups, fruits, and khichdi while avoiding oily or heavy meals. You can use paracetamol for fever, but avoid taking multiple painkillers like Ultracet frequently without medical advice. If fever persists beyond 2-3 days or you develop worsening pain, swelling, rash, vomiting, or weakness, consult a physician and get blood tests such as CBC and dengue screening done for proper diagnosis and treatment.
