Ozagrel

Ozagrel is a medicine that selectively inhibits thromboxane A2 synthase, an enzyme involved in the production of thromboxane A2. By reducing thromboxane A2 formation, it may decrease platelet aggregation and blood vessel constriction. The approved uses of Ozagrel vary by formulation and country. 

Ozagrel is available in different formulations depending on the country. Oral Ozagrel has been used in some regions, particularly for bronchial asthma, while intravenous Ozagrel is used in Japan for conditions such as cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid haemorrhage. Approved uses and availability may vary by country. 

To achieve the best results, you should take Ozagrel exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken regularly at the same times each day. You can take it with or without food unless your doctor advises otherwise.

While taking this medicine, some people may experience mild side effects such as nausea, headache, dizziness, stomach upset, rash, or itching. However, seek medical attention promptly if you notice unusual bleeding, easy bruising, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or a severe allergic reaction. Ozagrel is associated with an increased risk of bleeding, and liver enzyme elevations have also been reported.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Ozagrel or if you have active bleeding, a significant bleeding tendency, or severe liver impairment. Use caution and speak with your doctor if you have kidney problems or a history of peptic ulcer disease.

• Signs of a severe allergic reaction, including hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat, and difficulty swallowing.
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes, which may indicate liver injury.
• Severe, persistent stomach pain.
