Cefditoren

About Cefditoren

Cefditoren is used to treat several bacterial infections of the skin, throat, tonsils, pneumonia and bronchitis (infection in the airway tubes). Bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection.

Cefditoren contains Cefditoren, which works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) necessary for their survival. This prevents the growth of bacterial infections.

ake Cefditoren as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time.

Before starting Cefditoren, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy to any antibiotic or kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking Cefditoren if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Avoid taking Cefditoren if you are breastfeeding, as Cefditoren may pass into breast milk.

    Patients Concern

    Disease/Condition Glossary

Bacterial infection: It is a condition in which harmful bacteria enter, multiply and infect the body. They can target any part of the body and multiply very quickly. These infections vary from minor illnesses like sore throat and ear infections to severe brain infections like meningitis and encephalitis. When you get infected with these germs, you can experience generalized symptoms, like fevers, chills and fatigue. A few harmful bacteria that commonly cause infections include Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and E. coli. Anyone can get a bacterial infection, but people with a weak immune system or taking immunosuppressive medicines like steroids are more prone to infections.
