It is not recommended to take Spectrofer Syrup with coffee, tea, or dairy products at the same time, as these may reduce the absorption of Spectrofer Syrup . However, you may drink coffee or tea 2 hours before or after taking Spectrofer Syrup .
Spectrofer Syrup contains Ferrous ascorbate (an iron supplement) and folic acid (a form of vitamin B9). It works by increasing the production of red blood cells (RBCS) and haemoglobin (a protein) in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs is produced in the body, so that each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.
You are not recommended to take Spectrofer Syrup with phenytoin as co-administration of these two medicines may reduce the concentration of Spectrofer Syrup in blood and increase the risk of seizures (fits). However, please consult a doctor before taking Spectrofer Syrup with phenytoin.
