About Seradic Gel

Seradic Gel is a topical gel formulated to relieve localised pain, swelling, and inflammation in the muscles, back, and joints. It is commonly prescribed to treat pain resulting from musculoskeletal injuries, strains, sprains, and degenerative joint conditions such as osteoarthritis. By targeting pain directly at the source, it helps restore comfort and physical mobility.

For optimal results, apply Seradic Gel consistently to the affected area as recommended by your doctor. Because this is a topical medicine applied directly to the skin, it does not need to be timed with meals. Incorporating low-impact physical activities, maintaining a healthy weight, and performing gentle stretching exercises can significantly enhance your physical recovery alongside this treatment.

While Seradic Gel is generally well-tolerated when applied as directed, some users may experience mild, localised skin reactions like redness, itching, or a mild burning sensation. If you develop severe skin irritation, hives, or signs of a serious allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, stop using the gel immediately and consult your doctor.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this gel if you have a history of stomach ulcers, kidney conditions, asthma, or liver disease. Do not use this if you have a known allergy to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or if the application site has open wounds, cuts, or infected skin.

Inform your healthcare provider if you are currently taking oral NSAIDs or blood-thinning medicines, as these can occasionally interact if systemic absorption occurs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as elderly individuals, should consult their doctor before starting Seradic Gel to ensure it is safe for their specific situation.

Uses of Seradic Gel

Seradic Gel is used to relieve localised pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal conditions. The detailed uses of Seradic Gel are as follows:

  • Muscle pain and stiffness: Relieves deep muscular soreness, tension, and stiffness caused by overexertion or daily wear and tear.
  • Joint pain and osteoarthritis: Helps reduce localised swelling, inflammation, and discomfort in the joints, making daily movement easier.
  • Sprains and strains: Alleviates acute pain and swelling resulting from minor sports injuries or accidental twists.
  • Backache and neck pain: Provides targeted cooling and soothing relief to painful areas along the spine and neck.

Key Benefits

Seradic Gel provides targeted relief by delivering active ingredients directly to the affected area through the skin. This localised action helps reduce pain and inflammation while limiting the need for the medicine to pass through the digestive system. The key benefits of Seradic Gel are as follows:

  • Targeted pain relief: Delivers active ingredients directly to painful tissues beneath the skin, helping provide relief at the site of discomfort.
  • Reduced inflammation: Helps decrease localised inflammation and swelling, supporting improved movement and flexibility.
  • Cooling and warming comfort: Provides cooling and warming sensations that help soothe discomfort and distract from deeper aches in muscles and joints.
  • Supports daily activities: Consistent application can help improve comfort during normal daily activities, exercise routines, and work by reducing pain and stiffness.

Directions for Use

  • Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
  • Clean and dry the affected area. Apply Seradic Gel to the affected area and rub in.
  • Wash your hands before and after using Seradic Gel.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, and mouth. If contact occurs, rinse with water.

How Seradic Gel Works

Seradic Gel contains diclofenac diethylamine, oleum lini, methyl salicylate, and menthol, which work together through the combined action of its active ingredients to target pain and inflammation from multiple angles. Diclofenac diethylamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking the action of chemical messengers called prostaglandins in the body that cause pain and swelling. By reducing the production of these pain and inflammation-causing substances, it helps relieve discomfort and improve movement in the affected area. Methyl salicylate acts as a counter-irritant. It causes the skin to feel cool and then warm, which helps distract the brain from deeper aches in the muscles and joints. This sensory effect provides soothing relief and helps reduce the awareness of pain in the treated area. Menthol activates special nerve endings in the skin that sense cold, producing a cooling sensation that acts as a counter-irritant and helps distract from deeper muscle and joint pain. This cooling effect provides temporary relief from discomfort and creates a soothing sensation at the application site. Oleum lini (linseed oil) primarily acts as a penetration-enhancing vehicle that helps other active ingredients absorb into the skin more effectively, supporting their overall action in relieving localised pain and inflammation.

FAQs

Seradic Gel is a combination medicine used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, tendonitis, joint pain, muscle stiffness, back pain, bursitis (inflammation of the bursae), lumbago (low back pain), neck, hand, and shoulder pain.
Seradic Gel work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make other chemical prostaglandins. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.
Seradic Gel is used to reduce and relieve pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. It is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage.
Avoid taking a bath or shower for at least 1hour after applying Seradic Gel.
Avoid concomitant use of Seradic Gel with other topical products such as cosmetics, sunscreens, lotions, moisturizers, insect-repellent creams, and other gels.
Do not apply external heat or cover the treated skin with dressings after applying Seradic Gel. Avoid wearing clothes or gloves for at least 10 minutes after applying Seradic Gel.
Do not apply Seradic Gel on wounds, skin injuries, irritated skin, skin abrasions, and infections.
You should consult your doctor before using Seradic Gel if you are pregnant, especially during the third trimester, as absorption of certain ingredients could potentially affect the baby. Talk to your doctor for safe alternatives.
It is best to wait until your skin has cooled down to its normal temperature before applying the gel. Hot water dilates skin pores and increases blood flow, which may lead to excessive absorption and a strong burning sensation. Talk to your pharmacist if you experience skin discomfort.
If the gel gets into your eyes, rinse them immediately and thoroughly with plenty of clean, cool water. If burning, redness, or pain persists after rinsing, contact a doctor right away.
Because Seradic Gel is applied topically, very little medicine enters your bloodstream, making a direct interaction with alcohol unlikely. However, if you are using it over large areas or have a history of stomach ulcers, moderate your alcohol intake and talk to your doctor.
