Senasof Tablet 10's

Sennasof tablet is used to regulate bowel movements, soften stool and help relieve constipation. It is used for short term relief of constipation. It is also helpful in clearing the bowels before surgery or any surgical procedure. It contains substances called senosides, which irritate the lining of the gut and bring about a purge in the form of stool.

Senasof Tablet is used to promote bowel movements by stimulating the natural muscles of the intestines. It is commonly used for the following purposes:

• Occasional constipation: Senasof Tablet helps stimulate the muscles of your intestines, encouraging them to contract and move stool through the colon more easily.
• Bowel preparation: In certain cases, doctors may recommend this medicine to help empty the bowels before medical examinations, imaging procedures, or bowel surgeries.
   

Senasof Tablet brings welcome relief by easing the physical discomfort associated with constipation. It helps reduce painful straining during bowel movements, which can prevent or ease discomfort from haemorrhoids or anal fissures.

Because the medicine typically works within 6 to 12 hours, taking it at bedtime allows you to experience predictable, overnight relief, helping you start your morning comfortably without feeling rushed or disrupted.
 

• Senasof Tablet can be taken with or without food, as advised by your physician.
• It is usually taken once daily at bedtime, or as directed by your physician based on your medical condition.
• Swallow Senasof Tablet whole with a glass of water; do not chew or crush it.
• Always follow your physician’s instructions carefully to ensure safe and effective use.

Before starting the medication, let your doctor know if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems and other pre-existing medical conditions. Exercise caution in case of an allergy to lactose as this medicine contains lactose. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor in advance if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding before starting the medication. Inform your doctor and use this medicine with caution in case of a recent change in bowel habits, reduced gut motility, intestinal obstruction, abdominal disorders such as IBD, appendicitis, bowel atony, heart failure, dehydration, kidney failure and any disorders causing chronic diarrhoea or rectal bleeding. If you experience any unusual symptoms or allergic reactions whilst taking medicine, please discontinue the use and consult your doctor immediately. Inform your doctor of any other herbs or medications that you may be using. Exercise caution while using this medicine with any heart medicines, water-tablets or steroids. Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets. This medicine is not recommended for children under 6 years of age. Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight. In case of a missed dose, revert to your original schedule and take the next dose when it is due. Do not take a double dose in any case. Do not stop using this medicine abruptly.  

Making simple, healthy adjustments to your daily routine can help prevent constipation from returning and support your overall digestive health:

• Drink plenty of water: Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, as adequate hydration is key to keeping stools soft.
• Eat more fibre: Gradually add fibre-rich foods to your meals, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, oats, and whole-grain breads.
• Stay active: Regular physical activity, such as a daily 30-minute walk, helps stimulate your natural bowel function.
• Do not ignore the urge: Go to the bathroom as soon as you feel the urge to have a bowel movement, as delaying it can make stools harder and more difficult to pass.
   

• Avoid Prolonged Use: Do not use Senasof Tablet for more than 7 consecutive days unless your doctor tells you to do so, as your bowels can become dependent on the laxative to function properly.
• Check Before Use: Check the expiration date on the packaging before use, and do not take the medicine if the protective seals are broken or missing.
• Expect Temporary Urine Colour Changes: Be prepared for a change in your urine colour; a reddish-brown tint is a normal, harmless reaction to this medicine and will disappear after you stop taking it.
• Monitor Your Symptoms: If your constipation does not improve after a few days of use, or if you develop sudden, severe stomach pain, stop using the product and talk to your doctor.
