Macox-Plus Kid Tablet contains Rifampicin and Isoniazid, which work together to kill the bacteria that cause tuberculosis (TB). They stop the bacteria from growing and spreading, helping the body fight and clear the infection.
Macox-Plus Kid Tablet is for paediatric use only. Give Macox-Plus Kid Tablet to your child exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Macox-Plus Kid Tablet may sometimes cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching, and tingling or numbness of the skin. Macox-Plus Kid Tablet may cause a reddish-orange discolouration of body fluids such as tears, sputum, and urine. This is harmless and usually does not require treatment. However, speak to your doctor if you have any concerns.
Common side effects of Macox-Plus Kid Tablet may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching, and tingling or numbness of the skin. However, these symptoms usually resolve as your body adjusts to the medication. If these side effects persist or worsen, please consult a doctor.
Macox-Plus Kid Tablet contains isoniazid, which may interact with foods and drinks containing histamine or tyramine, such as cured meats, aged cheese, soya, tuna, salmon, mackerel, wine, and beer. Avoid giving these foods while your child is taking this medicine.
Macox-Plus Kid Tablet may affect the results of some blood tests, such as folate, vitamin B12, and liver function tests. Inform the person doing the tests that your child is taking Macox-Plus Kid Tablet .
Macox-Plus Kid Tablet is composed of two antimycobacterial drugs, Rifampicin and Isoniazid. It is used to treat and prevent tuberculosis in children.
If you forget to give a dose of Macox-Plus Kid Tablet to your child, give it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and give the next one at the usual time. Do not give two doses together, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
The best time to give Macox-Plus Kid Tablet is on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. This helps the body absorb the medicine more effectively.
