• Numbing before minor procedures: Used to numb the skin or mucous membranes before minor clinical procedures, such as injections, blood draws, or minor skin surgeries.
• Lubrication and pain reduction: Provides pain relief and lubrication during certain medical examinations, such as the insertion of catheters or other diagnostic instruments.

When used as directed as part of your treatment plan, this medicine may provide the following benefits:

• Rapid Pain Relief: Lidfast 2% Jelly provides rapid, localised pain relief by temporarily desensitising the nerve endings in the specific area where it is applied. This targeted action ensures that you do not feel discomfort during minor medical procedures or while healing from superficial skin irritations.
• Pain-Free Procedures: By numbing only the surface area, it prevents the need for systemic pain medications, thereby reducing the risk of widespread side effects. It allows patients to undergo necessary clinical tests, needle insertions, or minor dermatological treatments with minimal anxiety and pain-free comfort.

• Apply a thin layer of Lidfast 2% Jelly to the affected area and gently rub it in.
• After applying Lidfast 2% Jelly, wash your hands thoroughly unless your hands are the affected area.

• Avoid Heat & Cold: Protect the numbed area of skin from physical injury, heat, or cold, as you will not be able to feel pain if the tissue is damaged.
• Avoid Hot Foods & Drinks: If Lidfast 2% Jelly is applied inside the mouth or throat, avoid chewing gum, eating, or drinking hot liquids for at least an hour to prevent biting your tongue and cheeks, and to avoid choking.
• Keep Skin Clean: Keep the treated skin clean and free from tight, restrictive clothing that could cause friction or sweat buildup over the medicated area.

• Check Packaging Before Use: Always inspect the tube or container before use; do not use the gel if the packaging is punctured, leaking, or damaged.
• Do Not Cover Tightly: Do not apply a tight bandage, plastic wrap, or heating pad over the treated area unless specifically instructed by your doctor, as this can increase absorption into your bloodstream and cause serious side effects.
