Foliride Tablet 30's is used to treat or prevent anaemia (lack of blood). About Foliride Tablet 30's

Foliride Tablet 30's is used to treat or prevent anemia (lack of blood) caused by a deficiency of folic acid, anemia in pregnancy, anemia due to damaged red blood cells, anemia in kidney dialysis patients and anemia that occurs as a side effect of certain medicines. Foliride Tablet 30's may be used in women before and during pregnancy to prevent spina bifida (abnormality of the spine) in babies. Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry the adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.

The Foliride Tablet 30's contains Folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) that increases healthy red blood cell (RBC) production in the body and carries oxygen throughout the body. As a result, an adequate amount of hemoglobin (Hb) is produced in the body so that body's each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.

Take Foliride Tablet 30's as recommended by your doctor. You may experience nausea, black stool, constipation, loss of appetite, bloating or flatulence (gas) in some cases. Most of these side effects of Foliride Tablet 30's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Foliride Tablet 30's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Foliride Tablet 30's. Foliride Tablet 30's should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. If you have an allergy to any sugars, inform your doctor before taking Foliride Tablet 30's as it may contain lactose. If you have a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anemia (anemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or folate-dependent tumor, inform your doctor before taking Foliride Tablet 30's.

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.• Keep Foliride Tablet 30's out of reach and sight of children. • Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

What if I have taken an overdose of Foliride Tablet 30's

Take Foliride Tablet 30's only as suggested by the physician. Do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. If you suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to Foliride Tablet 30's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking Foliride Tablet 30's if you have cancer. Foliride Tablet 30's should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. If you are breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before using Foliride Tablet 30's. If you have pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12), a tumour or if you are receiving a stent in the heart or undergoing haemodialysis due to kidney failure, inform your doctor before taking Foliride Tablet 30's. You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 2 hours between taking Foliride Tablet 30's and indigestion remedies such as antacids containing magnesium or aluminium and edible clay. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any sugars as Foliride Tablet 30's contains lactose.

You are not recommended to take Foliride Tablet 30's with phenytoin as co-administration of these two medicines may reduce the levels of Foliride Tablet 30's in blood and increase the risk of seizures (fits). However, if you are supposed to use these medicines together, please consult a doctor so that the dose may be adjusted appropriately to use safely.

Foliride Tablet 30's should be used with caution and in doses as advised by a doctor in dialysis patients or end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or kidney failure. However, it is advised to inform your doctor if you are undergoing dialysis before taking Foliride Tablet 30's.

Foliride Tablet 30's is recommended during pregnancy to maintain correct levels of folic acid and reduce the risk of neural tube defects such as spina bifida (abnormality of the spine) in babies, usually caused due to folic acid deficiency. Foliride Tablet 30's helps in the development of the brain and spinal cord in the unborn baby. However, please consult a doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy before using Foliride Tablet 30's.

You are recommended to consult a doctor before taking Foliride Tablet 30's with other vitamins or supplements.

If you miss a dose of Foliride Tablet 30's, do not worry. Take it as soon as you remember. But, if it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Though a balanced diet rich in leafy greens, fortified grains and fruits provides folate, some people may need supplements like Foliride Tablet 30's to meet their daily requirements.
