Debriwell Ointment is a debridement ointment intended for the treatment of wounds. It has been formulated to effectively remove dead tissue from the wound site and expedite the healing process. The ointment is not just limited to removing dead tissue; it also assists in thinning pus present in lesions such as ulcers, cysts, bedsores, and surgical wounds. This dual action can be crucial in managing wounds and reducing the risk associated with untreated or poorly treated wounds.

The ointment works by containing the active ingredients—papain and urea, which are known as keratolytic agents. This helps shed dead skin cells and accelerates the healing process. In addition, Debriwell Ointment has an emollient effect, providing a soothing action that softens the skin around the wound.

Debriwell Ointment is used in the treatment of dead skin removal and wound healing. The detailed uses of Debriwell Ointment are as follows:

• Dead Skin Removal: Debriwell Ointment gently removes dead skin cells and debris from wounds such as bed sores, ulcers, burns, surgical wounds, cysts, and carbuncles, promoting smoother skin texture.
• Wound Healing: Debriwell Ointment aids in wound healing by promoting a moist environment, supporting tissue repair, and facilitating the healing process.
• Skin Softening: Debriwell Ointment helps to soften and moisturize dry, rough skin, improving skin texture and comfort.
• Pus Thinning: Debriwell Ointment also helps to thin pus in lesions, such as ulcers, cysts, bedsores, and surgical wounds, facilitating drainage and healing.

Debriwell Ointment belongs to the class of medications called 'Debridement agents' used to remove dead skin and promote wound healing. Debriwell Ointment contains Papain and Urea, which help remove dead skin from wounds and speed up recovery. It also helps thin the pus in lesions (ulcers, cysts, bedsores, surgical wounds). These two medicines increase moisture in the skin and dissolve keratin (a protein on the skin's outer layer). This effect makes dead skin cells fall off and accelerate healing. It also has an emollient effect and helps to soften the skin.

• It is advised to apply Debriwell Ointment 1 to 2 times daily; however, follow your doctor's recommendation regarding the dosage and duration.
• Apply a generous amount of Debriwell Ointment and spread it evenly on the affected areas of the skin to form a 1/8-inch thick layer with clean and dry hands. You can also apply Debriwell Ointment with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab.
• Wash your hands before and after using Debriwell Ointment on the affected areas unless the treatment is for the hands.

However, if these or any other side effects persist or worsen, immediately consult your doctor. It is advised to use this product only under medical assistance. Debriwell Ointment must be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney diseases and poor blood circulation.  

• Use mild soap while taking baths and prefer warm baths.
• Avoid harsh products on your skin.
• Do not scratch or pick your skin to avoid infecting the affected area.
• Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
• Limit food intake that might trigger allergies, such as dairy products, soy, eggs, and nuts.
• Avoid consuming foods with excess sugar, as it may flare up inflammation.
• Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and fish.
• Avoid getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents, and rough fabrics.
• Wear clothes with long sleeves, a hat, and sunscreen with high SPF while outdoors.
• Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps.

Debriwell Ointment is for topical (skin) use only. Do not use the medicine in and around your eyes. If the medicine accidentally gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or genitals, rinse it with water thoroughly. It should not be given to children with a fever, especially if they have flu symptoms or chickenpox. Debriwell Ointment may increase skin sensitivity to the sun, so take necessary precautions while going outside and avoid tanning beds or sunlamps. If you notice any persistent skin irritation or worsening of the skin disease, stop using Debriwell Ointment and immediately inform your doctor.
