Sodium hyaluronate is similar to the joints' fluid; this acts as a lubricant in the joints and prevents friction between the joints. Chondroitin sulphate prevents the breakdown of collagen tissue in the joints. Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) acts as an antioxidant that helps the synthesis of new collagen fibres and new blood vessel formation and promotes healing at the joint site.
