Caltock-D Capsule 10's

Caltock-D Capsule is used in the treatment of Osteomalacia/Rickets, Osteoporosis, Vitamin D deficiency and Hypocalcaemia. The detailed uses of Caltock-D Capsule are as follows:

• Support bone health and prevent osteoporosis: Caltock-D Capsule combines calcium citrate and alfacalcidol to strengthen bones and reduce the risk of fractures, especially in individuals with low bone mineral density or postmenopausal women.
• Enhance calcium absorption and metabolism: Caltock-D Capsule includes alfacalcidol, a vitamin D analog that helps regulate calcium and phosphate levels in the body, improving calcium uptake and utilization.
• Maintain hormonal balance and reduce bone loss: Caltock-D Capsule contains isoflavonoids, plant-based compounds that mimic estrogen which help counteract bone loss due to hormonal changes, particularly during menopause.
• Support muscle and nerve function: Caltock-D Capsule provides magnesium oxide, which plays a key role in muscle contraction, nerve signaling, and maintaining overall neuromuscular health.

Caltock-D Capsule contains Alfacalcidol, Calcium citrate, Isoflavonoid and Magnesium oxide.  Alfacalcidol is converted into the active form of vitamin D3 (calcitriol). It strengthens the bones by increasing the calcium and phosphate levels in the blood that are essential for forming healthy bones and teeth. It raises the Vitamin D levels and thereby increases calcium levels in the blood. Calcium citrate is a calcium supplement that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation. Isoflavonoid increase bone mineral density. Magnesium oxide is a mineral supplement used to prevent or treat low magnesium levels in the body. Caltock-D Capsule increases bone density and has stimulating effects on osteoblastic activity (formation of bone) in the skeleton.

• Caltock-D Capsule can be taken after meals to improve absorption and minimise gastrointestinal discomfort.
• Generally, Caltock-D Capsule is to be taken once or twice daily, at the same time each day, or as advised by your doctor.
• Swallow Caltock-D Capsule as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break it.

• Include dairy products like milk, yoghurt, cheese, or milk-based custard in your diet.
• Eat daily a serving of broccoli, cabbage, bok choy (Chinese white cabbage), spinach, and other green leafy vegetables.
• Snack on calcium-rich nuts like Brazil nuts or almonds.
• Sprinkle sesame seeds over your food, vegetables, and salads. Sesame seeds are high in calcium.
• Avoid or reduce the intake of caffeine, soft drinks, and alcohol as they may inhibit calcium absorption.
• Replace the meat with tofu or tempeh for extra calcium in your food.

Caltock-D Capsule should be used with caution in children and only if prescribed by a doctor. Drive only if you are alert as Caltock-D Capsule may cause dizziness. Do not take Caltock-D Capsule if you have hypercalcaemia (high calcium levels in the blood) or calcification (high calcium levels in body tissues). If you have vomiting, nausea, bone pain, muscle weakness, increased thirst or urination, constipation, tiredness or lack of energy, contact a doctor immediately as these might be signs of high calcium levels in the blood.
