About Calobik Lotion 100 ml

You can apply this lotion to your child's skin multiple times a day as needed. Applying it consistently at the first sign of itching helps prevent scratching, which protects the skin from infections. Keeping your child in a cool room and having them wear loose, cotton clothing will also help improve their skin recovery.

This lotion is commonly used to relieve minor skin irritation in children. If your baby is younger than 6 months of age, or if you are unsure whether this product is suitable, consult your doctor before using it.

Most children tolerate this soothing liquid very well, though some may experience mild skin dryness or slight redness where it is applied. If your child develops signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as a rash, swelling of the face, or trouble breathing, stop using it immediately and consult your doctor.

Talk to your doctor before starting this lotion if your child has severe skin wounds, deep cuts, or an active skin infection. Do not use this medicine if your child is known to be allergic to any of the ingredients listed on the bottle.

This topical lotion does not interact with food, drinks, or oral medications, making it safe to use alongside your child's regular diet. While designed primarily for children, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should still consult their doctor before using any new topical product.

Uses of Calobik Lotion 100 ml

Your doctor may prescribe Calobik Lotion 100 ml to help manage the following conditions:

  • Insect bites and stings: Calobik Lotion 100 ml cools the skin and reduces the urge to scratch the affected area.
  • Chickenpox: Calobik Lotion 100 ml helps dry up oozing blisters and provides relief from itching.
  • Sunburn: Calobik Lotion 100 ml soothes hot, painful skin and provides a gentle cooling sensation.
  • Heat rash (prickly heat) and mild contact dermatitis: Calobik Lotion 100 ml helps soothe irritated skin, dries up mild weeping, and relieves itching.

Key Benefits

When used as directed as part of your treatment plan, this medicine may provide the following benefits:

  • Fast Itch & Cooling Relief: This soothing lotion brings real-world relief to your child's skin discomfort. It works quickly to cool hot, irritated skin, helping your child feel comfortable and sleep better.
  • Supports Skin Comfort: By drying up oozing rashes and weeping blisters, it supports skin comfort while the body heals naturally. Many children notice relief from itching and skin discomfort soon after application, while the underlying rash or irritation may take several days to improve depending on its cause
  • Helps Prevent Scratch Damage: Additionally, because it reduces the urge to scratch, it protects your child's sensitive skin from further damage. This significantly lowers the risk of secondary bacterial infections that can occur when nails break the skin barrier.

Directions for Use

  • Follow your doctor’s instructions on the dosage and timing.
  • Take a sufficient amount of Calobik Lotion 100 ml on your hand and apply it to the clean, dry affected skin area and gently massage it into the skin. Allow it to dry.
  • Shake the bottle well before use.

How Calobik Lotion 100 ml Works

This lotion works through a combination of cooling, skin-protective, and mild drying actions. When applied to the skin, the liquid evaporates and creates a gentle cooling sensation that provides temporary relief from itching and discomfort. The zinc oxide in Calobik Lotion 100 ml also acts as a mild astringent and skin protectant, helping to soothe irritated skin and reduce oozing from minor rashes or blisters.  Its mild astringent action helps dry up excess moisture from weeping rashes or blisters. As it dries, it leaves a thin protective layer on the skin that helps shield irritated areas from further friction and minor external irritants while the skin recovers naturally. The lotion's pink colour comes from ferric oxide, an inactive ingredient that also gives the dried lotion its characteristic pink film on the skin.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Keep Nails Short: Keep your child's fingernails trimmed short and clean to prevent skin damage and secondary infections from scratching.
  • Use Cool or Lukewarm Baths: Give your child cool or lukewarm baths instead of hot baths, as hot water can dry out and further irritate the skin.
  • Keep Cool: Keep the indoor environment cool and comfortable to minimise sweating, which often intensifies skin irritation.
  • Stay Hydrated: Ensure your child stays well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water, which supports overall skin health and recovery.
