Zoxim-A Tablet is an antibiotic medication used to treat various bacterial infections such as ear infections, strep throat, traveller’s diarrhoea, pneumonia, and intestinal infections. It contains Azithromycin (macrolide antibiotics) and Cefpodoxime (cephalosporin antibiotics). About Zoxim-A Tablet

Zoxim-A Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections such as ear infections, strep throat, traveller’s diarrhoea, pneumonia, and intestinal infections. Zoxim-A Tablet does not work against infections caused by virus such as cold and flu.

Zoxim-A Tablet contains Azithromycin and Cefpodoxime. Azithromycin prevents protein synthesis, whereas Cefpodoxime prevents the formation of bacterial cell wall, which is necessary for the survival of the bacteria. Together, Zoxim-A Tablet helps to treat bacterial infections.

Sometimes, Zoxim-A Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and headache. These side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

The detailed uses of Zoxim-A Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Treatment of upper respiratory tract infections: Zoxim-A Tablet helps treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and acute maxillary sinusitis caused by susceptible organisms.<br/>• Treatment of lower respiratory tract infections: Zoxim-A Tablet is effective in managing acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.<br/>• Treats Ear infections: Zoxim-A Tablet is used in the treatment of acute otitis media to reduce inflammation and eliminate the infection.<br/>

What if I have taken an overdose of Zoxim-A Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Zoxim-A Tablet may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe these symptoms or think you might have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Zoxim-A Tablet works by preventing protein synthesis and the formation of bacterial cell wall, which is necessary for the survival of the bacteria.

Zoxim-A Tablet may cause diarrhoea. Drink enough fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. However, if the condition persists or worsens, consult your doctor.

Zoxim-A Tablet causes side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, dark urine, diarrhoea, and stomach pain. However, these do not require any medical treatment and gradually reduce over time. Contact a doctor if these persist for longer durations.
