Zinforo 600mg Injection is a prescription antibiotic given into a vein to treat certain serious bacterial infections in adults and children. It is used for acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections, including infections caused by some resistant bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and for community-acquired bacterial pneumonia, an infection of the lungs acquired outside a hospital.
This medicine kills susceptible bacteria by damaging the protective cell wall they need to survive. It does not treat viral infections such as colds or flu. Using antibiotics only when prescribed and completing the recommended treatment helps reduce the risk of the infection returning and bacteria becoming resistant.
Zinforo 600mg Injection is given as an intravenous infusion (slow drip into a vein), usually by a healthcare professional. The dose, frequency, and length of treatment depend on the type and severity of infection, your age, kidney function, and response to treatment. Because it is given directly into the bloodstream, food does not affect its absorption.
Common side effects may include diarrhoea, nausea, headache, or a reaction where the infusion is given. Consult your doctor right away if you develop severe or bloody diarrhoea, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, unusual bruising or bleeding, unusual tiredness or pale skin, or new fever or signs of infection.
Before treatment, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, a history of seizures, bowel problems, or allergies to antibiotics. In particular, tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to ceftaroline, another cephalosporin, or a penicillin antibiotic, as allergic reactions can sometimes occur across related antibiotics.
