Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen is used in the treatment of Type-2 diabetes mellitus. The detailed uses of Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen are as follows:

• Improve glycemic control in type 2 diabetes: Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen is primarily used to manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. Insulin degludec provides long-acting basal insulin coverage, while liraglutide enhances insulin secretion after meals and suppresses excess glucose production by the liver.
• Support weight management and reduce insulin resistance: Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen can help curb appetite and support weight reduction, which enhances insulin sensitivity and improves metabolic health. Liraglutide’s effect on slowing digestion and reducing food intake contributes to better diabetes management.

Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen is a combination of two anti-diabetic drugs, namely: Liraglutide and Insulin degludec. Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen is used to treat type-2 diabetes mellitus adjunct to diet and exercise. Liraglutide lowers the amount of sugar made by the body and helps the body make more insulin during meals. Insulin degludec works similarly as the insulin produced by the body. It lowers blood glucose levels and facilitates the reuptake of glucose in the fat and muscle cells. Together, Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen helps in controlling blood glucose levels.

• Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen is recommended once daily, preferably at the same time each day, or as advised by your doctor.
• Check the label for instructions before using Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen.
• It should be administered subcutaneously (under the skin) only.
• Wash your hands properly and adjust the dose as advised by the doctor. Clean the injection site and inject the dose subcutaneously in the abdomen/thighs/upper arm. Safely discard the needle.
• Change injection sites within the same area to prevent the formation of hard lumps.
• Do not administer Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen intravenously, intramuscularly, or by an infusion pump.

• Include foods rich in healthy carbohydrates and fibre, fruits, whole grains, and vegetables in your diet.
• Try eating food at regular intervals. Do not skip meals. Also, try not to overeat.
• Follow a healthy diet and walk for at least 45 minutes to complement treatment with Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen.
• Maintain a healthy weight by exercising regularly.
• Rest properly, avoid stress by doing meditation or yoga.

Do not use Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor if you have type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, inflammatory bowel disease, delayed gastric emptying, eye problems, thyroid problems, kidney/liver problems or if you are taking any oral anti-diabetic medicines. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen is not recommended for children below 18 years. Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen may cause hypoglycaemia, so drive only if you are alert. Do not use Xultophy 3ml Pre-Filled Pen if the pen is damaged, if the solution is not clear or if the pen has not been stored properly.
